1. How to Activate New Devices

Gateway Activation

The gateway has to be activated first before any other devices can be activated. Follow the steps below.

Important: Once you plug a Gateway into Power you need to complete the activation steps below prior to provisioning other devices. If that's not possible, please unplug the Gateway until you're ready to complete the Gateway activation.

Step 1: Connect Gateway to Power and Internet

  1. Plug Router into “Data In/LAN” on Provided PoE wall plug
  2. Plug Gateway into “PoE/Power Out” on Provided PoE wall plug
  3. Plug PoE plug into wall 110V outlet

  1. Wait 5 minutes while the Gateway connects to the internet.
  2. Check if Gateway is online by looking for a blinking yellow light on top of the Gateway.
Tip: Plug Gateway directly to router if it supports PoE

Step 2: Login to AROYA

  1. Navigate to app.aroya.io
  2. Login to AROYA

Tip: Email invite sent to you upon purchase of hardware

Step 3: Check if Devices Have Already Been Activated

For large orders, chances are your devices have been pre-activated. In this case, please proceed to guide "How to Create and Edit Rooms and Zones".

  1. Click the Gear Icon for Setup
  2. In the menu, click “Devices”

  1. Check to see if the list of devices is populated with your new devices.
    1. If No: Please proceed to the next step below
    2. If Yes: Please proceed to guide "How to Create and Edit Rooms and Zones"

Step 4: Activate Gateway in AROYA 

  1. Click the Gear Icon for Setup
  2. Click “Activate”

  1. Click “Add Gateway” and follow instructions on screen

Sensor Activation

To activate new sensors, including climate stations and substrate sensors, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Collect Devices

  1. Place devices within 10 feet of active Gateway

Step 2: Connect Climate Stations to Power

  1. Plug Climate Station into “PoE/Power Out” on Provided Power over Ethernet (PoE) wall plug
  2. Plug PoE plug into wall 110V outlet

Step 3: Turn on Sensor Noses

This step is only applicable to devices with a button. These would have serial number starting with H321 or H331.
  1. Press the button repeatedly until a green LED blink once.

Step 4: Activate Devices in AROYA

  1. Click the Gear Icon for Setup
  2. Click “Activate”

  1. Click “Find Devices”

  1. Select sensors to activate 
  2. Click “Finish activation”

Tip: If some devices aren’t found, click “Search again”
